African Black Soap is an all natural soap made from plantain peels, cocoa pod ash and natural oils like coconut oil and Shea butter. The market women who hand make this soap sun dry and roast  the plantain peels then filter it through water. The alkaline base from the plantain peels is then added to the natural oils. There is no lye in African Black Soap. Lye is Sodium hydroxide which generally mixes with oils to make soap. The alkaline base obtained from roasted plantain peel replaces lye in regular soap.

African Black Soap is organic and pure and may help to heal a lot of skin ailments. E.g. pimples, eczema, etc. It can also help to soothe dry skin as it cleanses the skin without stripping it of its natural oils.
